Children from villages in Trung Son Hydropower Project area in Quan Hoa, Muong Lat districts (Thanh Hoa province) and Van Ho district (Son La province) were cheerful and eager to start their new school year as the roads from their houses to schools are new, broad and made of concrete. It used to take them hours to go to schools on the old slippery and muddy roads. Their little feet are now walking on flat and clean roads.
The project has built several new spacious schools in the area and this is the first year that the children enjoy their new classrooms, new furniture and new equipment.

The joy seemed to be doubled when in the first school-day the children received number of new notebooks, pens, text books and other stationeries as presents from the staff of Trung Son Hydropower Company Limited. This is the support from Trung Son staff to children in the project’s remote areas to encourage them overcome difficulties to continue going to school and achieve good results in the 2016-2017 school year.
Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Trung Son Hydropower Company Limited has launched a new initiative named “Supporting the pupils in Trung Son Hydropower Project area”. This is one of several activities carried out by Trung Son staff every year to help local people living in the project area.
The presents were handed over to Managing Boards of the schools in Trung Son, Muong Ly, Trung Ly communes of Quan Hoa, Muong Lat districts (Thanh Hoa province) and Tan Xuan, Xuan Nha communes of Van Ho district (Son La province) so that the pupils will receive the present on first day of the new school year on September 5, 2016.
